We're looking for ways to increase the visibility of our insulating render product in the UK and have decided that the best way is to get it into the hands of people that will make good use of it and give us feedback for case studies in return.

ProofTherm insulating render is a lightweight, breathable render that provides both thermal and acoustic insulation. Its ideal use is in older properties that need to retain vapour permeability or where it's just not practical to go down the...

Just wondering is mesh needed over concrete block walls when using mono? Personally I always base coat with mesh then top, but have seen a few lads just spray one coat on or spray a slurry on 1st then inbed mesh then go straight over with another coat. I’ve done a one coat once a few years ago and ended up with the mortar lines showing through. Any info would be appreciated

Hi - I'm a house owner who's about to start an extension and garage conversion and I'd love some expert advice please...
We live in a brick house, build in 1987. We don't want to try and match the existing brick in the renovated parts so are planning on rendering the house (or painting, if budgets won't stretch).

K Rend has been coming out v expensive. 2 contractors have suggested 2 other products: Weber and Johnstones Stormshield Render. I'm struggling to find reviews online. Are they any...

Reet gadgies Av got an issue.
Sometimes when you spray bucke coat you spray too much in one place and it goes all shiny and looks shite so i scraped a patch off and re sprayed but it still looks patchy so I either :
1. Respray the whole panel hoping to hide the patch but then the texture looks heavier and not as neat.
2.Try to scrape the panel back (tried this in the lockup and its like bell metal so currently experimenting with various paint strippers nitro mors etc to see if it softens...

Weber One Coat Render - Advice Wanted

We’ve just had our house rendered using Weber Render in Silver Pearl. I was unhappy about the expansion bead at the back of the house and the difference in colour already (looks like two houses) Tonight we have put on the outside lights and the walls look a mess. All pitted and uneven. Is this normal? It seems such a lot of money for a finish I wasn’t expecting. Am I expecting too much?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Seen it on twitter the other day. Anyone used it?.
Is there any need for it?

I normally just use the gear I'm using to stick them or old stock in the lock up.

Not a fan off gripfill etc.

Pebbledash Dilemma - Looking for Advice

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some suggestions/advice over our pebbledash dilemma.

Long story short, our 1890s semi detatched property is covered in pebbledash sand and cement render. We've had some structural issues since we purchased the house and now the front wall is being knocked down and rebuilt. So effectively we will have blockwork in the middle of the front wall and old red brick to the left and right of it. This red brick will still be covered in the old pebbledash. The new...

Morning chaps

Feel free to tear me a new ar*ehole...
Attempting my first bit of rendering this week. Will probably be an absolute disaster but god loves a trier.

The most ridiculous question I have is the dilution ratio of the additive.
Using Everbuild Integral Waterproofer, the manufacturer says:

In all cases, add to gauging water at an addition rate of
0.5 to 1 litre per 100 kg cement, or alternatively, one
part EVERBUILD® 202 Integral Liquid Waterproofer to
20 to 40 parts water and...

Render Repair

Need some advice.

I rendered some garden walls other day, which got damaged after it got sponged by another trade.

(Hose got dragged across it.)

Before I could come back, the customer has painted all the walls, Including the damaged area, which unsurprisingly she wants repairing.

It's a fairly shallow mark, but noticeable, and "large"

Any suggestions on how I can go about repairing this after they have painted it?

TIA
