Hi All,

This is my first post here and I would be very grateful of any advice on the best way forward regarding some weber pral m render that was applied to 3 walls on a kitchen extension in August last year that has a number of issues and needs to be sorted. With better weather and longer days it is time to put it right and it would be great to hear from some of you guys who have experience with weber products.

The render is quite uneven in places. By 15mm in one area where you can just...

Rendering in sections?

How feasible is it to render a house in a couple of sections with weeks in between? I ask because it will be very difficult (impossible) to do my place in one go.

The scaffolding's going up on Monday, and that will allow the side and back of the extension to be done. However, I won't be able to get the bay sides built with the scaffolding up as the ground floor front needs to be left open for a while.

So I was thinking that if it's feasible, the side can be done to the front corner and...

Hotel to render

I've been asked to price a hotel to render in Dundee, I've not went into great detail with the drawings but according to the surveyor running the job there is around 530m2 of render to do an a further 840m2 of parge coating. Its far too big a job for me to do alone, so I was wondering if there was anyone in the area or willing to travel that would be keen to take the job on. I would pass your details on to the builder and leave it all to you to deal with. All I would ask for would be if you...

Rendering problem

Hi all. Rendering a newly built house the past week or so. Scudded 2-1. Scratched 4-1 with evoplast waterproofer. Nap finish at 5-1-1/2 with evostik plaz. Scud and scratch went fine but the finish is baffling. Scratch would be wet down the evening before a couple of times and again in the morning wet down 2 r 3 times before applying finish coat. Elevations would be nice and damp. The problem is when we go back screeding there are dry patches and wet/moist areas. Dry patches are about 12-18...

a question on parex parinter and a lumpy painted pebbledash

Hi all

I have a pebbledash on a 1920's house with fairly large pebbles and years of paint on it. The paint is tired but not flaky. There are numerous cracks and repair patches but on the whole the dash itself is solid, although it definitely needs some love. I can of course hack it all off but the impact damage is obvious and you never know how much damage you will do doing so. I had been advised the modern answer would involve either spot scabbling the paint and dash back - it was...

A couple of months back i posted some pics of a builders own rendering 80m2 of rough , cracked render with bad beading . I told the customer (a work colleague) not to pay him and that i could sort it for less than 2k but the builder says he can hack off and do it again for £500 .

Plain face render

We have a job to do and are deciding to do s+c or a premixed render, we normally do scratched /thin coat systems and s+c but want to give this a go

Is it OCR or Kmix that we would use, also does this system go on the same as s+c (scratch and top) or just 1 coat then rub up?

Cheers

Any suggestions please?

Chaps,

Got a little bay to re-render. Currently its old blown sand & cement on eml/chicken wire over lat & lathe studwork

Was thinking of removing old render and eml and mechanically fix if possible either a thin insulation board or something similar followed by a thincoat silicone finish.

As always there's very little space to play with due to sills etc.

So just after finding a suitable very thin insulation board or carrier board that would be suitable for studwork?

At present I'm not...

Any suggestions please?

Hi,

I have had an extension rendered with Weber pral M monocouche as part of a home improvement project.

An inspection has shown up some problems, including the fact that the guy who did the work has rendered hard up to the window and door frames (no beads / sealant between render and frame).

The advice given is that to make it weathertight around the frames the render now needs to be cut back around the frames to form an approx 6mm x 6mm cut which should then be filled with a good...

Mono repair

I've to look at a mono repair job where the customer is making their garage wider so the ingoes will need mono applied to match the rest. Now I don't come across mono a very often never mind repairing it. So just wondering if this is the best method. I won't get an angle bead on the corner so should I just stick a stop bead on level with the existing render then seal the join between the stop and original render?
