Which exterior render gives the best finish?

Hi All,

I'm about to build a house and am looking for the best quality render. I've heard of K-REND but there is also a render by Webber Building Solutions can anyone tell me which is best?

painted rendagrip on a plain wall 2 days ago,looking at it i got no confidence its going to adhere to it and stay on could i use sbr slurry over the rendagrip to give a better key,if it was a small wall i would take a chance but this wall is 40 sq ms and exposed to the weather,thanks

Been on this site for 11 months and got my 1st negative review. I appealed it as the client wanted a hole in the floor plastering. ( kid u not) and later over the skirting boards after skimming over a doorway.
Said my work was average as was dust along with plaster on the corner wall where I was plastering to make the corners neat and tidy. Then at the same time she had a cleaner in at the same time I was plastering. f**k**g some people.
Give you an idea of the client, gated fronted house...

Got to talk to some new faces today and was interested with their approach on rendering with beads. Some of them even said that they only use plastic beads when using mono and use battings for anything else as its “lazy using beads”. Dunno if its only me but i always use plastic beads especially if its on block work. I do use battens when the situation calls for it but I find beads much faster, can render both sides together and less fragile corners like when using a darby ect. to hold a wet...

How many of you actually use beads?

Evening ladies long time away

I need to refurbish alot of bay window mullions and sills all previously painted

I cant get parex parinter anywhere nr me and delivery charge is ridiculous and will only be putting a total thickness of 4mm on in two coats with top coat being a OCR tight coat floated and sponged

Any other product available

Hi has any1 rendered a swimming pool on the reinforced foam blocks
Iv been told it's a 2 coat acrylic render with with render mesh but would they need a primer of key coat 1st
And any advice on the best products to use

Gentlemen

I'm undertaking a small detached self-build bungalow in Norfolk.

I am looking to have the outside rendered with K-Rend Silicone FT. A total of 60m2

I'm looking for a little advice on how much I should be expecting to pay for a plasterer to supply materials + Labour and undertake the K-Rendering

Anyone used fassa bortolo monocouche? I've heard it's decent gear and want to give it a bash on the next job, my main concern is the setting times the rep I spoke to told me it's a 24hr set but wanted some first hand advice???????

Any tips on spraying through Ritmo would be appreciated.

OSB timber framed extension

Hello.

I have recently rendered a timber framed extension.

It had been clad in OSB and the builder had done the prep work.

Membrane fixed to the OSB and the metal lathe fixed over the top of that.

Then rendered. Application and finish was fine but it has in a very short amount of time cracked like crazy paving.

Any input as to why and how to rectify the issue would be really appreciated. Really scratching my head over this one. Something must have gone a miss in the prep before...

Scud coat

Got a garage re-render coming up. Old dash hacked off back to red brick. Usually I use weber rendaid or sbr slurry and hit it while its tacky. Rendaid is out of stock in my area and sbr slurry is just a pain in the arse when your doing a 100 things at once. As far as throwing or stippling a scud on and leaving it a few days is a 2:1 sharp sand mix with 1.5 : 3 sbr to water the correct mix? What works for you guys?

Concrete panels

Rendering over concrete panels, any ideas on what to use for this?

In an area where most use K-rend and want to see the Krend branded bags. Can scrim and pin it as the panels are only about 10mm thick in places.

SBR - HPX and then K1?

Or for thin coat
SBR - HPX - hP14 then TC?

Had a great day today with the ritmo
Over 30 bags of pro rend basecoat sprayed on with full mesh.approx 120m2 covered with 2 guys(me and apprentice)
I don't think I could go back to hand balling with a f**k*d back!!

K-Rend / HP12 on top of Tyrolean OR remove and replace sand/cement render

Afternoon,

Looking for some advice please, I've recently had installed new doors and windows on a ground floor extension which is rendered with Tyrolean.
My first though was to have all the existing Tyrolean render removed back to brick work and have it re-rendered with sand/cement , prob not Tyrolean though, and painted.
But, I've been advised/quoted that the existing Tyrolean could be left on and it could be 're-rendered' using K-Rend / HP12 complete with a mesh (including filling in...

Hi all

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his house

Usually I monogris over the dash first before top coating the following day

I was wondering if anyone has tried this over unpainted dash...

A coat of micro 3000
12mm beads
Mesh and top coat together

I'm trying to keep costs down for him as much as pos !

Egg shaped cracks

Hi can you help me. I have a new house which is smooth plastered outside. It was plastered 3 months ago. I have noticed egg shaped cracking has appeared when the wall is wet but when the wall is dry you can not see this. When the cracks appear I tap the walls to see are they bost Happy to say they are not. My plasterer has told me it is drying out hair line cracks. The cracks are not on the outside of plaster if you know what I mean Has anyone come across this or will the cracks come bost...
