Painting rendering

Ive recently done a small extension and the render has used Chaulk - Webber through colour render. It’s cream compared to the rest of the house though which is white. Just after some advice on best paint to use?
I would consider painting the house cream to match but it’s massive and pebble dashed so would take ages and cost more.

Having to go over someone else's work with 6mm beads. I was going to use 10mm beads but k rend spec 6mm beads and the builder wants to do it in 6mm. Bit nervous about this. Anyone done it before?

I've sand and cement render on my house. Some of it is shot, but most of it is still on very nicely. There are also quite a lot of small cracks.

I want to fix the cracks once and for all (or at least for a couple of decades). I was going to have the render taken off and a silicone render applied.

A local builder visited and suggested taking the render off will be a huge job (> 220m2) especially where the render is sound and we might damage the blockwork underneath. Instead he suggested...

Hi - I'm a house owner who's about to start an extension and garage conversion and I'd love some expert advice please...
We live in a brick house, build in 1987. We don't want to try and match the existing brick in the renovated parts so are planning on rendering the house (or painting, if budgets won't stretch).

K Rend has been coming out v expensive. 2 contractors have suggested 2 other products: Weber and Johnstones Stormshield Render. I'm struggling to find reviews online. Are they any...

Hi Guys


new to the forum, been browsing through the last week as there’s plenty of info and looks like people have had similar issues to what I have, but I haven’t come across a solution as yet.... if there is one!
Wasn’t sure to post this under Render or Damp

Just had my garden landscaped, but the builder hasn’t put any form of damp proofing on the earth side of all the retaining walls, these are now all back filled and top finished (turf, patio & decking) also no drainage fitted apart...

Using lw1 first time today over grey insulation boards. Got to be the worst gear to use. 1st pass with mesh leave it to get some body second coated serrated edge ruled flat. Turned back to spat and the stuff had skinned over the top but was really wet behind causing it to tear all over. Anyone got any tips for this? Im thinking of ruling and sparring at once while its wet?

Is it OK to roughcast over white sand white cement mixed at 6-1 with plasticiser(no lime)
It's let to dry for 3 or 4 days but it's dampened down before wet dashing.
Wet dashing mixed at 7-1 (7 soured mix to 1 white cement)

just renovated the inside of an outbuilding now the customer wants the outside rendered in parex which i have never used before but i am sure i can get the hang of it,but theres a few questions i would like to ask,the building is a half concrete sectional garage so would renda grip and using fibre mesh be ok to prevent any cracking of the joints,and the other half of the building is a concrete block add on which have got existing render/dash which is painted,,so would the bellcast have to...

Hi, first post on here, thought it was better to start a new thread rather than resurrect an old one. I am looking to renovate a large 4 bed semi that is old painted render. About 50% of which was re-rendered about 9 years ago (but not great then and worse now), some patchwork was done at that time too, to repair some of the worst cracks on the render that was left.

The whole house was then painted and is now in desperate need of attention. The choices I am considering are:-

Mention this other week, not used any myself but seen place in my town with s**t loads of it in storage £10 a bag and loads of information leaflets to read through, said it’s similar to Weber , same day scratch ,anyway Thursday drive by a guy I know he was using some had the gear applied to new blocks on one half of a house 4pm ish he’d nearly finished scratching the back of house but one side was still so wet , seen him the next day asked how did it go , he left the side until the morning...

straight stop beads?!?!?!?!

just wondering what everyone does for their stop beads along dpc to get them perfectly straight? or does everyone put a drip bead along dpc? we have tried everything, but whenever you wink it down at eye level (granted nobody does this) but it looks wavy as fudge. we use a level, have tried a strong line but it just gets in the way really, tried chalk line to mark the top of the bead but gets covered when we stick the bead with basecoat, i have a laser but cant see it during the day...
