Right so this is going to have running water in the two large parts.
All the outside is having k rend. He wanted the insides doing but I said that won't work.
I know f**k all bout most things even more water features . He did mention a paint (Can't remember name) but I said no Idea about it and don't fancy just painting on blocks then filling with water. Also mentioned tiles. I said just get a proper lining .
Anyway whats best way to go about it cheers

Once I do the patching there will be a colour difference when I put the kiln dried sand on top. Can I go over the other stonework work with the sbr and sand to match it in abit better?
This is a love job which a f**k**g hate doing tried to get the old gadgie to hack it all off it it is what it is.

Hi guys, just need abit of advice off you lovely bunch of spreads, will it be ok to topcoat over old scratch coat? Customer has hacked off old topcoat (pebble dash) and has asked me to patch scratch coat where needed then topcoat and pebble dash again. Tia.

Hi all,
New member here. I won't bore you all with the story, but we're at the tail end of a 12 month major refurb/extension and the main contractor has gone into administration...

I feel relieved at no longer having to put up with his BS, but am having to take over the management of the final parts, one of which is the some external insulation and rendering. The house is Edwardian so is solid brick walls with smooth white render from around 1m up.

Hi
I know I posted this on here a couple of months ago but this job is dragging on and wondered if anyone would have any idea what this product is?
It’s a scratch finish onto base coat on eps boards.
The colour looks like silver pearl to me? But the material has a very large aggregate and looks like they have been aggressive with the I beam to finish it.
It was done about 6 years ago

The photo shows our new build house, just 1 year after moving in.

It's covered in render (already coloured so no painting done on top).

Yesterday we noticed the block pattern showing through on a neighbours house (east and south facings), quickly checked our own and this is what we saw.

A 3rd house shows a small section like this, but not the whole wall.

Is this normal or should we be concerned?

Got a couple of pallets of fassacouche to use next week, house is beaded and base coated, been told it's a slow setter so is it an overnight scrape? Anyone been using it recently?

Why is 52.5 Newton white cement predominantly sold and used in the rendering game and causing unbelievable confusion about ratios when 32.5 Newton white cement is also made and sold.
Opc is 32.5 Newton predominantly sold and used so why do merchants not sell 32.5 Newton white cement.....

Hi folks, new to the forum.
I have a newly built breeze block outhouse which I will have white rendered.
I have two quotes both about the same price.

One quote is from a nice guy, you can tell hes a grafter, suggesting he does the job using Stonepack, hes also heard good things about using Weber.
Other quote is for K-rend, he has a certificate that says he can do it.

Been looking at the forums to figure out which to use, but just cannae make up my mind!
Preference is no cracks > Stays...

hy lads bit of advice.
got a job in the pipeline got a semi detached house block work and quins on the corners .not thermalites by the way.
he wants render sand cement lime .dilemma is the thickness will only be quarter of an inch thick total including scratch and top coat.
i will turn it it down unless there is another alternative as this is no were near enough depth.cheers lads.

Anyone ever crim them back together as a fix , accidentally chopped through it knocking off will pay for virgin to come out if have too but would be great to fix myself

OK , only ever done lime/cement and don't intend to go back to it as I'm too old and having fun indoors anyway
Don't doubt modern is better but clemos comments on ghosting , over Feb block/ brick mortar got me curious , zombie won't answer me about the mesh comment and don't blame him blame tbf but what's your take on mesh diffusing the ghosting , feel free to take the p155 as long as you don't mind it back , been a good laugh lads , jess don't forget to ask permission

Hello chaps.
It’s probably already on here somewhere.
K rending a house. Most of it it is face brickwork and so far no prob with the job. Good finish punter well happy.
The rear of the house has a 1 storey extension that is painted s&c.
Can we prime it with the k rend r10 primer then scratch and bead it then top it late afternoon for scratching up next morning as we have with the rest of the job
We are using the k1 silicone k rend
2 coats same day then scratch back following morning. If...

Can u put monoosh k rend stuff on thin and just float and sponge it flat.so no painting. Cheers.
