Hairline cracks in render
Need some advice from you guys on a sand and cement rendering job I did back in September.
All Old render was removed. Rendagrip applied. Then a scratch coat at 5-1 with waterproofer then once dry a top coat of 6-1 with febmix.
It has been painted with sandtex once dried.
Had a call saying there are hairline cracks over some of the walls which I've attached a picture off.
The other walls are fine the only difference is the sand used. The walls that are cracked was with sand from a...

Crazed s&c render
Hi peeps
Just rendered an extension and it has all crazed as it dried. None seems to have blown, just hairline cracks. What would be the best way to sort it without hacking it off. Client is going to paint it himself but I need to sort it first. Tia

External rendering over cement board. PLEASE HELP
Hi guys. I'm new to the forum so hello .
We have recently put a new timber extension to the side of our house.
We have used cement render boards to try and make it as lightweight as possible (white ones like aqua panels 12mm thick)
My plasterer is a bit old school and he sbr'd the surface of the board and put a base/ scratch coat of cement on and then a top coat.
Needless to say it has all fallen off as the base coat hasn't adhered to the cement board.
We are now not sure what to use...

S&C Tyrolean
It’s been many years (over 20 !!) since I’ve done sand and cement tyrolean.
What mix/ratio do you guys use.
I seem to remember the wetter the mix the finer the finish ?
And would you use a waterproofer in the mix ?
The top coat was completed about 6 weeks ago.
Any advice appreciated..

Talking Tape
The other day got sent a few new rolls to try out by made in England company, they still after feedback on these but have a brilliant selection, tbh been pretty disappointed with dolphin blue and not been using it on upvc for a while but this blue feels totally different to normal rolls actually feels more rubber cushioned on the outside and very firm great for windows, the extreme orange I used on bricks and brick sils and did half and half with the dolphin to see the difference ( the...

Mono over block/brickwork
I've never sprayed/applied mono straight over brickwork or block without base coat and meshing it first, but i have seen alot of lads doing this. What's your opinions on this ? Is this good practise? Or is there a risk that all the mortar joints will show through.
